He was quickly airlifted to Aga Khan University Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya, where he was placed in the intensive care unit. Medical professionals diagnosed him with severe heart failure, determining that a heart transplant was essential for his survival. A fundraising initiative was launched, targeting Shs1.5 billion (about £300,000) to fund a transplant procedure in London.
