Tiktokker Chicken Chicken Apologises For Negative Remarks On Rwanda.

Ugandan TikToker Chicken Chicken, whose real name is Anthony Katongole, has apologised to the people of Rwanda and President Paul Kagame after making negative remarks about the country.

“I want to apologise to the ambassador of Rwanda in Uganda and H.E. President Paul Kagame. I documented my visit to your country, and people failed to focus on the good things I talked about,” Katongole said.

During a YouTube podcast, Katongole shared observations about Rwanda, listing both positive and negative aspects he noticed in Kigali during a recent short visit. He described Rwanda’s roads as narrow and poor, mentioning the presence of old cars, comments that upset many Rwandans online, particularly as they felt he overlooked the country’s achievements.

Due to this incident, some speculate that NTV Uganda cancelled an interview with Katongole scheduled for Mwasuze Mutya on June 16, 2025, though no official confirmation has been provided. Fearing potential legal consequences, including imprisonment, for making negative statements about a country, the 25-year-old TikToker publicly knelt in a social media video, asking Rwandans for forgiveness.
