A recent public disagreement between Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, the Senior Presidential Advisor and Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), and Frank Gashumba, a prominent political commentator and activist, has captured significant attention
Gashumba had publicly claimed that Namyalo was financially struggling during their initial meeting prompting her to respond with a detailed report to give her part of statement.
Namyalo in a video, recountes a personal encounter with Gashumba, where he approached her seeking opportunities after being released from jail.
At that time, Namyalo says she had secured a significant position within the government, and Gashumba, aware of her influence, hoped to benefit from her connections.
Namyalo agreed to consider him for future opportunities, particularly if budget allocations were announced, and sent him off with a sum of 2 million Ugandan Shillings as a gesture of goodwill.
Namyalo presented a file containing documents that allegedly show Gashumba’s signatures acknowledging receipt of various sums of money, none of which were below 2 million Ugandan Shillings and a 3million he got in 2023.
