The 9th edition of the pearl of Africa Tourism Expo(POATE 2025 ) opening ceremony kicked off as of 21st May, at Speke Resort Convention Center in Munyonyo under the theme “ Tourism For Sustainable Development.”
Delegates from various sectors both regional and within Uganda and the Rt. Hon. Robbinah Nabbanja were present during this first day opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was graced with beautiful performances from ,Navio,Tracy Melon, Ebrahim Soul’o, Suzan Kerunen, Uncle Walter, Carsten, IGC Fashion and Crane Performers
The Pearl Of Africa Tourism Expo (POATE) is an annual tourism and travel trade show that is organized by the Uganda Tourism Board. The Expo brings together buyers and sellers to tourism experiences, celebrate,network,enjoy and appreciate Uganda’s beauty and this rans till 24th May,2025.
The expo is a platform to showcase Uganda’s beauty ,culture, explore new experiences, Creativity , building firm spirit for the love of the pearl of Africa. Issues to be discussed are on Regional Tourism, Tourism Investment, and Destination Marketing during Panel discussions on the days of the Expo.
The Director Tourism and Business Development at Uganda Wildlife Authourity, Stephen Masaba highlighted the need to invest in Luxury resorts, and recreational facilities such as Cruises In River Nile ,Canopy Walkways and Eco-Tourism Ventures
With the new direct route of the Uganda Airlines to London, there is glimpse of Hope that the tourism Industry is to receive more tourists in the Country and the new Appointment of Juliana Kagwa as the new C.E.O Uganda Tourism Board, opens a wave seen in the promotion of the Toursim Industry with her experience in Marketing ,Corporate relations and Sustainability from the Private Sector.
