President Yoweri Museveni is scheduled to deliver the State of the Nation Address tomorrow, Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds. This address is a constitutional requirement in which the President outlines key government priorities, progress, and challenges.
The 2025 address will mark the opening of the 5th Session of the 11th Parliament, as confirmed by the Clerk to Parliament, Adolf Mwesige Kasaija. The event will be broadcast live on all Televisions, and Radios starting at 2:00 p.m.

In his address, Museveni is expected to provide updates on several key topics. Economic progress will likely be a central theme, particularly focusing on the Parish Development Model (PDM). Launched to promote wealth creation at the grassroots level, the PDM has injected over Shs 500 billion into parishes, empowering communities to engage in commercial agriculture and small enterprises. The President has also conducted tours in various regions to assess the success of the PDM.
Additionally, security issues in the country will be addressed, especially in light of recent events such as the terrorist attack during Uganda Martyrs Day and the UPDF’s assault on Wakiso police station. Other topics will include the progress of the oil and gas sector, as well as issues concerning health and infrastructure.
The address will set the legislative and policy agenda for the 5th Session of the 11th Parliament, shaping Uganda’s trajectory as it approaches the critical election year of 2026.
