Navio showcased his competitive spirit and shared his excitement about participating in battles, reminding us that he would even do it for free if the circumstances are right.
Navio, who has been a vibrant part of the Ugandan music scene since his days with the group Klear Kut, mentioned that his recent rap battle in Gulu against Judas has only boosted his confidence.
He feels ready to take on anyone, anywhere. During the conversation, he also talked about what makes a rap battle interesting for him.
He says the importance of having clear terms for the battle, whether it takes place in a club, a big stadium, or on the streets as long as with details are clear, he can do it for free.
GNL Zamba kicked off his entertainment career back in 2005 with the Hip Hop Canvas, a cool project organized by Shadrak Kuteesa of Platinum Entertainment.
On the flip side, Navio’s love for music blossomed in his childhood, thanks to his older brother’s awesome collection of rap tracks. By the time he was 16, he had formed Klear Kut, which went on to win the PAM Award for Best Hip Hop Group in 2004.
What’s really inspiring is Navio’s view on rap battles. Even though there’s potential for making money, he emphasizes that his love for the art comes first, stating he’s happy to battle for free if it feels right.
