Mystery And Evidence In Late Dr. John Spire Kiggundu’s Death

On June 22, 2025, the medical community, family members and friends  were  shocked to hear about the passing of Dr. John Spire Kiggundu, a beloved gynaecologist and the founder of Henrob Hospital in Zzana, known for his innovative work in laparoscopic surgery.

Dr. Kiggundu  before his death, had checked into  Dream Guest House in Kajjansi for just a few hours, arriving alone in his stylish black BMW.

After letting the receptionist know about his short stay, he settled into Room 111, leaving the door unlocked, which suggested he might be expecting someone.

As the day went on, staff found the door slightly ajar, and Dr. Kiggundu was discovered sleeping peacefully in the room. Concern began to grow when he remained asleep into the morning, prompting the lodge manager to reach out to Kajjansi Police .

Authorities arrived to find a variety of items, including Cash,  $1,370, UGX 93,000, a phone, tablet, car keys, 2 used HIV test kits, Open bottles of water & juice, Panadol Extra tablets

 

The mystery on his death, took an intriguing turn when the CCTV footage revealed a woman entering through the back door. She was seen chatting on her phone and quickly leaving with a black bag, coinciding with the times Dr. Kiggundu’s phones went off.

As detectives continue with  their investigation, they discovered that the woman had communicated with Dr. Sentongo 17 times over the previous three months.

Police continues with investigations, despite  the family  rolling  in support of the postmortem result , conducted by police pathologist Dr. Moses Byaruhanga at Mulago Hospital, which  confirmed that Dr. John Spire Kiggundu died of acute cardiomyopathy, a heart condition involving weakened heart muscles and narrowed coronary vessels.
