Cedric Babu Body Returned to Uganda And Will Be Laid To Rest On Saturday.

The body of the late Cedric Babu, son of former Kampala Central MP Francis Babu, has arrived at Entebbe International Airport. He will be laid to rest in Kamengo, Mawokota, in Mpigi District on Saturday, according to the funeral program released by the family.

Cedric Babu passed away last week in Kenya due to heart complications, despite the efforts of friends and family to raise 1.5 billion Ugandan shillings for heart surgery in London.

His body arrived at Entebbe International Airport on Tuesday, June 3, and was transported to Uganda Funeral Services in Bukoto. As of Wednesday, June 4, the family is holding a vigil at Cedric’s home in Kololo at 5 PM.

On Thursday, June 5, the body will be taken to Lugogo Indoor Stadium, where sports fans and friends will gather to pay their last respects. The public tribute, organized by the National Council of Sports, will start at 11:30 AM.

A Requiem Mass will be held at Rubaga Cathedral on Friday, June 6, followed by the transportation of the body to his ancestral home in Kamengo, Mpigi District. Cedric Babu will finally be laid to rest on Saturday, June 7, in Kamengo.

Friends and family members have come together to mourn Cedric Babu’s passing. Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, Chief of Defence Forces and President of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), described him as a “brother, close friend, and comrade in the struggle.”
